How to Stop Windows update in Windows 10
Although Microsoft is about to release Creators update in the spring of 2017 with the ability to pause updates, it's still too late for users who suffered from automatically force update. Considering the awful year of Microsoft Windows 10 in 2016, we cannot give too much hope on the coming strategies.
But we can stop Windows 10 update in registry, here's how it works:
- Press Win + R together to open "Run" tool and input "services.msc" to open Windows Services;
- Press "W" and find "Windows update" with ease, and double-click to go into it;
- Under tab "General" click "Stop"; and under tab "Recovery" > First failure > click "Take no action" from the dropdown menu;
- Click OK and Restart; and we can do the same to restart the service when the coming update is reasonable.
