How to clone disk in Partition Expert

How can I clone a disk and make sure it’s bootable, I don’t want to reinstall my system, besides, can I backup data using this function?

Clone disk, the new function is able to clone the entire disk and if the source disk contains an operating system, it can be cloned too, so you don’t have to reinstall Windows, here’s how to clone a disk in Partition Expert:

  1. Click on a disk and choose the function Clone Disk
  2. Choose a destination disk and click Next
  3. Click ‘Delete all partitions on the destination disk’ and click Next
  4. Specify size and location on the target disk
  5. Click Finish and Commit to clone disk

Note: only when there are partitions on the destination disk will step 3 show that window if it’s an empty target disk (not partitioned), this wizard will skip this step and directly show the window of step 4

It’s always recommended to backup data on the target disk or the disk you’re about to plug-in, although it’s able to find the deleted partitions back, it’s troublesome especially when source disk is cloned to, so backup important stuff and delete all the partitions and then start to clone
